Recap of day 1 at ny fashion week of 2009, descriptions after the jump!

rag & bone
Loved several of the looks from the collection. Maybe I'm a little biased since I'm in love with the cute designer duo Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. Or maybe because I'm slightly a man since I adore androgynous clothing. Nonetheless, you can never go wrong with their tailored, menswear inspired pieces.

Yigal Azrouel
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. So easy to wear and I definitely believe Yigal is on the rise.

Jason Wu
The newest darling of fashion due to Mrs. Obama, of course. His collection was chic and superb. He is the quintessential go-to-man for ladylike pieces, for sure.

BCBG Max Azria
BCBG was obsessed with those damn gold leggings, and that's all i got to say. The collection was good, not great. Very slinky + lots of drapery=BCBG.
Rachel Comey
Hmmm, only liked the looks above from the collection. Loved the vintage vibe, but not feeling the other looks which I have not posted above.

Meh, her other collections were better. Not something I would buy with the recession and all.
Collections for day one were fulfilling, but so many other great designers in the other days! It was definitely interesting to see how all the designers responded to the recession. Oh man, come to think of it, I should have started the blog DURING fashion week, since I'm posting these photos rather late aka AFTER fashion week ended. But better late than never right? I'll be putting more up more soon. Till then:)
XOXO,
Fred & Ginger
